Juliana Zipay is a strategic communicator and professional designer and writer with more than 10 years of experience in the higher education and nonprofit worlds. She is passionate about creating and implementing communications strategies that are meaningful, engaging, actionable, inclusive, and accessible.
As the Associate Director of Communications and Strategic Project Management supporting the Public Impact Portfolio and within the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs, Juliana develops and implements key communications strategies and engaging collateral that exemplify and elevate the University’s community impact, aligning them to the institution’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
Juliana joined the University in 2017, serving as the Communications Manager within the Office of Human Resources. Prior to working at Pitt, she served as the Membership and Marketing Manager for Silver Eye Center for Photography, a nonprofit photography art gallery located in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood. Juliana received a Master of Public Management from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Rhetoric from the University of Pittsburgh.
